The Minister for Social and Affordable Housing, Roderick Galdes, visited the regeneration project that was carried out within the social housing area in Ta’ Giorni, within the limits of St Julian’s. This regeneration project, with an investment of around €250,000, consisted of the beautification of the facades of the social housing blocks, while in one of the blocks the roof was renovated.

The regeneration work was carried out on five apartment blocks, benefiting 66 families. In comments made during the visit, Minister Galdes explained how the Government is investing in these regeneration projects in social housing areas to offer residents of the same areas a more beautiful environment and a higher quality of life.

“This project is a testament to the investment we are making to improve the quality of life of all those who live in these areas. Residents are experiencing a change in this housing sector, which is undoubtedly leading to a substantial improvement in their dignity,” the Minister said.

Minister Galdes expressed his satisfaction that such a project is being useful in making a difference in the daily lives of the residents concerned. “It is important to improve the appearance of these apartment blocks, but more than that, we are making a difference in the lives of the residents who reside in them,” concluded Minister Galdes.
