The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives David Agius, together with Davina Sammut Hili and Robert Cutajar have left Malta for Sydney to participate in the 67th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference.
The Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) is the annual Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA). It is the largest annual gathering of Commonwealth Parliamentarians, who come together to discuss global parliamentary and political issues. The 67th CPC will be held under the theme of ‘Engage, Empower, Sustain: Charting the Course for Resilient Democracy’.
A number of side conferences and meetings will be held in the margins of the 67th CPC including the 40th Small Branches Conference and the 8th Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) Conference. The 67th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference will be held in Sydney, Australia between 2 and 8 November 2024.
The Maltese delegation will also have meetings with High Commissioner of Malta to the Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand Mario Farrugia Borg, Consul General of the Republic of Malta in Sydney Lawrence Buhagiar, and a number of Maltese communities in Sydney.
