For another year the Parliament of Malta opened its doors to the public again on the occasion of Notte Bianca, which this year was held on Saturday, October 5. The building welcomed a good number of visitors, both Maltese and foreign, who all had the opportunity to see the building from the inside including parts that are not normally open to the public, such as the Government and Opposition offices, as well as visiting the rooms where the parliamentary committees meet and see the Parliament Hall.
The Speaker Angel Farrugia as well as the Government Whip Naomi Cachia and the Opposition Whip Robert Cutajar, were present for some time where they had the opportunity to talk to those who visited the building on this occasion about the work done by Parliamentarians. During the evening Parliament staff were also present to welcome the public and explain various aspects of the parliamentary procedures. At the entrance of the Parliament the public also had the opportunity to see the exhibition put on by the Association of Band Clubs called ‘Puccini the Photographer’ as part of the activities being staged on the occasion of the 100 one year anniversary of his death.
