The Valletta Local Food Festival 2024 is launched – A culinary journey through the finest flavors of Malta

This month, the Valletta Local Food Festival will return to Valletta, which will offer a dynamic showcase of local cuisine and culture, where food lovers can taste authentic flavors while exploring the culinary talents of local chefs and artisans.
Organized in the picturesque backdrop of the Valletta Design Cluster, the festival will be staged on Friday, 18 and Saturday, 19 October from 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm and Sunday, 20 October between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm, and will offer a vibrant atmosphere for everyone.
The Minister for National Heritage, Arts and Local Government, Owen Bonnici, said, “The Valletta Local Food Festival is a perfect example of how our culinary traditions unite people and contribute to national identity ours.” “As a Government we fully believe that these events are crucial to continue preserving our culture and history through the unique flavors of our island. I encourage everyone to take part in this experience which not only shows the local talents in this sector but unites us as a community,” concluded Minister Bonnici.
The Chairman of the Valletta Cultural Agency, Jason Micallef, said “The Valletta Local Food Festival celebrates the culmination of Maltese culture through its vibrant culinary traditions. This is an opportunity for us to share the flavors that define our heritage and bring people together in celebration of what makes Malta unique.”
Artistic Director of the Valletta Local Food Festival, Charles Bone, said, “This year’s Valletta Local Food Festival offers a culinary journey through the Maltese gastronomic landscape. We encourage everyone to experience the talent, creativity and passion of our chefs as they present a diverse menu that celebrates our island and its exceptional flavors.” Chef Ronnie Caruana will work on Maltese sweets and share knowledge about his culinary journey. Visitors can also enjoy craft beers, wine, cheese, and olive oils.
The event includes live music, Maltese handicrafts, and a workshop by Malta Accelerate for new companies on the production of food that comes from farming.
