AFM rescue two people trapped in Ta Maria caves

On Thursday the Malta Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) received a 112 call that two people were trapped in Ta’ Maria Caves limits of Mgarr, Malta, due to the rough sea conditions in the area.

RCC promptly coordinated the rescue by deploying Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) maritime units, the Malta Police, and Civil Protection Department (CPD) maritime units to the area. Through a coordinated effort by AFM and CPD, the two people were safely rescued, brought to shore, and handed over to Mater Dei personnel for further medical assistance.

The Armed Forces of Malta urges all members of the general public to stay vigilant and avoid taking unnecessary risks. Your safety is our top priority, and we ask for your cooperation in maintaining a secure environment for everyone.
