Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, has appointed her brother-in-law Matthew Tabone as her Head of Cabinet.
He was in charge of her office when she was an MEP in 2013. Since then he has held a number of high level positions.
Under EU regulations, MEP’s are not allowed to employ direct relatives, however brother-in-law is not considered a first relative.
