At least 80 people are reported to have been killed in an Israeli strike on a school turned shelter in Gaza, according to Palestinian officials.
Around 6,000 displaced people had been living in the shelter when the missiles struck.
Israel said it had targeted a Hamas control centre, a claim denied by Hamas.
