Joe Brincat, former Deputy Leader of Labour Party, passes away aged 81

Former minister and Deputy and deputy leader of the Labour Party, Joe Brincat, has passed away aged 81.

Dr Brincat, a lawyer from Marsa, was Minister for Justice, Lands and Housing from July 1979 to December 1981.

He was twice Deputy Leader for Party Affairs for the Labour Party, from 1976 to 1980 and again from 2003 to 2008.

In 1978, Joe Brincat was appointed Vice-President of the Assembly of the Council of Europe.
