In a Times of Malta interview, Prime Minister Robert Abela said he will announce who will be nominated to represent Malta as European Commissioner.

This comes shortly after his original choice, former Deputy Leader of the Labour Party Chris Fearne withdrew his nomination after being charged in connection with the Vitals hospital deal.
