New clinic inaugurate for the community in St Julians

 The Minister for Health and Active Aging Jo Etienne Abela inaugurated a new clinic in the community in the locality of St Julians.
This clinic will be offering the services of a family doctor, speech and language pathology for adults and children, as well as podiatry and physiotherapy. This new clinic was made in collaboration with the local council of San Điljan and the Parish of St Julians and was partially financed by the National Social Development Fund (NDSF), and will be serving over 13,500 people resident in St Julians as well as people living in the surrounding area.
Minister Jo Etienne Abela explained that the number of clinics in the community has risen to 29 and that over 100,000 patients are making use of them each year. He went on to explain how these clinics will be offering a holistic program that is based on preventive care. The minister also said that physiotherapy, podiatry, and speech language pathology services are continuing to be introduced in community clinics to better serve the needs of residents. He continued that with this model, Primary Health Care is continuing to place the patient at the center of care at the primary health level. “Primary Health Care is one of the pillars of health in our country and the government is committed to continuing this investment and strengthening medical care in the heart of the community so that it is closer to the patient,” concluded the minister.
