The Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri inaugurated the beautification project which was carried out in the open space of the Reservoir in Triq il-Kbira in Xewkija. This project was financed through a scheme from the Gozo Region, with the collaboration of the Ministry for Gozo and Planning and the Xewkija Local Council.
The project included the laying of new paving, a new lighting system, restoration of benches, as well as the planting of new trees.
“Through this beautification project, the residents of Xewkija can enjoy this open space. This project is an example of how we can continue to beautify our villages even with small projects around the locality,” repeated Minister Camilleri while continuing to say that the beautification work, including the restoration of the benches and some other work was done by the workers of the Ministry for Gozo and Planning.
Mayor of Xewkija Hubert Saliba thanked the Ministry for Gozo and Planning and the Gozo Region for the support and everyone who worked and helped so that this project could be completed.
Minister Camilleri concluded by saying that the ministry will continue to give its contribution so that the villages around Gozo continue to beautify and become localities that suit the residents.
