Malta Football President Norman Darmanin Demajo told journalists on Monday that there were very strong suspicions about betting on Malta’s World Cup qualifier against Lithuania.
He said that the betting suggested that Malta would lose by two goals which indeed was the result.
The MFA President said that the match had been highlighted as “high risk” by FIFA betting monitors.
Norman Darmanin Demajo is to meet with players without team managers.
