The President’s Office said that earlier today, President George Vella, together with Mrs Miriam Vella and members of Mrs Daphne Caruana Galizia’s family, visited the site of Mrs Caruana’s assassination in Bidnija. This came after a number of contacts, and an agreement, between the Office of the President and the family of Mrs Caruana Galizia from 3 September onwards.
There, President Vella laid a wreath as a show of sorrow and condemnation for the obscene act that ended the life of Mrs. Caruana Galizia on October 16, 2017 and in carrying out the recommendation of the public inquiry that ‘the State reconciles with the family of the murdered journalist, thus initiating the healing of the grave and traumatic wound that the country has gone through and is still going through’.
